Welcome to Dr. Sammy Lee Medical/Health Science Magnet Elementary School!
Our school is named after Dr. Sammy Lee, a former LAUSD student, a medical doctor, and a two-time Gold medal Olympic diver. Dr. Sammy Lee symbolizes what is expected from every student - working hard, pursuing dreams, and serving as a role model for our community.
Students will be actively engaged and accountable for their learning through a collaborative effort of the school staff and parents. Every staff member is dedicated and committed to providing an educational program grounded in our medical and health science theme that supports a hands-on, inquiry-based model of instruction. We invite you to come and visit our school and see how our students are being equipped with 21st-century skills! 2018 Dr. Sammy Lee Medical Health Science Elementary Magnet was recognized as a California Distinguished School. The California Distinguished School is given to public schools that demonstrate exemplary and quality educational programs and outstanding improvement and equity for all student groups.
